I heard from someone that you can get a DUI if you use mouthwash before driving. Is that true, or is the blood-alcohol limit higher in Iowa?

As in most states, the legal blood-alcohol content (BAC) limit in
Iowa
is 0.08%. This is the equivalent of about four drinks.While it is true that you can get a false breathalyzer reading after using mouthwash due to the alcohol content of the rinse, it’s unlikely that you’ll get a DUI for using mouthwash. Most police officers only administer breathalyzer tests if they notice that you’re driving erratically, so you’re unlikely to get a DUI while sober.
