What is covered under the Chevy powertrain warranty?

I’ve read that Chevy vehicles have come a long way in terms of reliability and construction. However, the last Chevy I had wasn’t great. So I’m just wondering if the powertrain warranty is acceptable for my needs. What does the Chevy powertrain warranty cover?

The Chevy 5-year/60,000-mile powertrain warranty pays for all manufacturer defects related to the engine, transmission, drivetrain, or any other component that impacts the drivability of the vehicle.
However, the Chevy powertrain warranty does not cover:
  • Cooling lines
  • Coolant
  • Hoses
  • Radiator
  • Connectors
  • Wiring
  • Sensors
  • Anything not related to the drivability of the vehicle
That said, every new Chevy also comes with a 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty that offers bumper-to-bumper coverage against manufacturer defects. This puts it on par with almost every other automaker in the American market.
