What is covered by the Ram warranty?
My 2020 Ram 1500 truck bed latch door won’t open anymore. I’m anxious about bringing it to the Ram dealership and leaving with a big bill. What’s covered by my Ram warranty?

It’s stressful when vehicle issues rear their heads! The Ram warranty covers most bumper-to-bumper malfunctions under the Basic Limited Warranty. This warranty provides protection for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first. The coverage starts at the vehicle’s original date of purchase.
The following parts are not covered with the Basic Limited warranty but are still covered under their own time and mileage limitations:
- Batteries
- Collision parts
- Catalytic converters
- Gaskets and seals
- Powertrains
- Diesel parts
- Performance parts
- Brake pads/shoes
- Shocks/struts
- Mufflers
- Starters
- Alternators
- Water pumps
Ram also includes a five-year/100,000-mile Diesel Powertrain Limited Warranty or five-year/60,000-mile Gas Powertrain Limited Warranty. This warranty covers parts and labor for powertrain-related parts—i.e., the engine, transmission, and drive system.
