My family and I are moving to Illinois next month, and I’m familiar with the driving laws in my state, but not in Illinois. What kind of actions are considered a moving violation there?

A moving violation in Illinois occurs whenever there is a violation of traffic laws by a vehicle in motion. Non-moving violations, by contrast, are any traffic law violation of a non-moving vehicle. Most non-moving violations are related to parking or faulty equipment.
