What is a good amount of liability insurance to have?

Why should I get $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 coverage? Right now I carry Iowa's state minimums and I've never been in an accident.

“Even if you’ve never had to use your car insurance, experts recommend carrying higher than
state minimums
. This is because state minimums often won’t provide enough coverage for injuries or damages in a major accident.
Having $100,000/$300,000 limits for
bodily injury liability
makes it less likely that you’ll have to pay out of pocket for another driver’s hospital bills or injuries.
Having a $100,000
property damage liability
limit should cover another driver’s vehicle or property. If you’re in a multiple vehicle accident and at fault, it’d also make sure you have enough coverage for all damage done.
It’s normally recommended that you carry the highest amount of coverage you can afford. If you can afford $100,000/$300,000/$100,000, you should consider raising your limits. You can never have too much insurance!”
