What happens if you don't file a police report after an accident in New York?
I was in an accident and didn't file a police report. The damage to the other driver's car is going to cost $900 to repair and my car will need repairs as well. Will I get a ticket for not reporting the accident?

, you have to file a police report after an accident within 10 days, but only if the total damage to all vehicles exceeds $1,000. If you don’t file a report, the state can suspend your license
until they receive it, and you may be charged with a misdemeanor.If the damage to your vehicle is under $1,000 and no one was injured, you don’t have to file a police report. However, you should still exchange information with the other driver and take pictures of the damage. Even if you aren’t required to submit a police report, it can still be beneficial. Police reports can help determine fault as well as provide proof of what happened in an accident.
