I’m sorry to hear that your ceiling fan gave out on you. Generally, if the fan stops working but the light is still turning on and off, there is an issue with the fan’s motor or the wiring.
Check for a humming sound when you try to turn the fan on. This will be a sure sign of a blown motor which is usually due to overheating. With some help from a friend or family member, you should check out the fan’s motor housing and look for a small black box connected to the pull cord.
