Sliding doors are suspended by rolling hinge-style mechanisms, with the rear slider carrying most of the weight. After extended use, the small roller bearings are likely to disintegrate, causing drivers to experience difficulty when shutting the door.
Another problem could result from the manual “slamming” of the door. After a couple of aggressively forced closures, the electronic module that controls the door operation will get disorientated and lose its “home” position. The sensor needs to be repaired and reset so that the automatic doors can function normally again.
It’s also possible that the sensor is simply clogged or dirty, or that the wires are wearing out or frayed.
