Can switching to a motorcycle lower the cost of my insurance?
I'm 22 years old and don't have a great driving record. I'm currently paying $400 a month for car insurance. Could I get a cheaper rate with a motorcycle? Would my driving record follow me if I switched?

“Regardless of the vehicle that you drive, your driving record, or motor vehicle record, will follow you. After three to five years, your accidents and violations generally stop impacting your insurance. Until then, they are factors that every insurance carrier looks at.
Motorcycles also require a different insurance policy than a car.
To get an idea of the cost of a motorcycle policy, you should shop around. It will be the best way to compare what you currently pay versus the cost of insuring a motorcycle.
