What do I do if my 2011 Honda Odyssey’s sliding door won’t open?

The sliding door on my 2011 Honda Odyssey is stuck and it won’t open. I’ve tried a few things, but it won’t budge no matter what I do! What else should I try to open the door on my Odyssey?

Sorry to hear that you’ve been having door troubles! When the power sliding doors on a
Honda Odyssey
stop working, it’s likely due to either power supply issues or a need to reset your door functions.
Power supply issues are the simplest to check, so we’ll start there: locate the engine compartment fuse box and check the fuse in position 10A to ensure it’s intact. This is the fuse responsible for relaying power to the sliding doors, causing them to open and close—if the fuse is blown, the doors won’t work. Luckily, replacing a fuse is a simple and inexpensive fix that should get the doors working again.
If the fuse is intact, double-check that both battery terminals are securely connected, then perform a hard reset on the doors by following these steps:
  • Turn the ignition on
  • Flip the power sliding door switch “Off”
  • Flip the same switch to the “On” position
  • Hold both of the door buttons until the doors are completely closed
If your fuse is intact, your battery is firmly connected, and a hard reset doesn’t solve your problem, you’ll need to head to a dealership or repair shop for a diagnosis.
