What do climate justice people think of electric cars?
There are a lot of people who I went to school with who were always on the eco team telling us to recycle and help save the environment. I’m wondering what climate justice people, like David Suzuki and Greta Thunberg, think of electric cars.

That’s a great question, we get that one often. Many climate change activists, including the two you mentioned, have advocated for electric cars in addition to walking, biking, taking public transit, or carpooling.
Their support for EVs would make sense as there is currently a large push for countries and citizens to fight against climate change. Companies and countries are advocating for the global adoption of electric cars in order to reduce carbon emissions.
The electric car industry is not cut and dry when it comes to reducing pollution. Materials still need to be mined, refined, and transported for electric vehicles. Additionally, many countries with the exception of Norway do not have 90% renewable energy production. Many activists advocate for EVs and are hoping to work towards making the EV industry more sustainable all-around.
