Do I have to be with the car for AAA to tow the car?

Do I need to be there for the driver to tow the car? I need to have AAA tow my car from one mechanic to another.

You usually need to be with the vehicle for
AAA
to provide service except in extenuating circumstances, as the membership covers the member, not a specific vehicle.
If it is not possible for you to be with the vehicle when the tow truck arrives, you should contact AAA to explain the circumstances.
If the repair shop that the car is being removed from is capable of performing the necessary repairs, the tow may not be covered.
