What are the best driving routes from Florida to Seattle?

I decided to take the entire summer off between my Junior and Senior years in college. I go to school in Florida, but I’ll be driving home to Seattle for the break—I don’t want to see the same stuff each way, but I also don’t want to spend the whole summer on the road. What are some good routes for me to take?

That’s great that you’re going to get to take the whole summer off! For your purposes, the best driving routes from
Florida
to
Seattle
take I-90 and I-70 across much of the U.S.
For the sake of speed, you’ll probably want to take I-24 and I-75 in and out of the South, but you can change up your route from there by taking the following highways:
  • I-70 East
  • I-29 North
  • I-90 East
We recommend this configuration to avoid the potential for wintry weather on the northern highways when you head back to school in the fall:
  • I-84 West
  • I-80 West
  • I-70 West
Before you hit the road this summer, be sure you
give your car a complete check-up
. That should also include checking up on your current
car insurance
policy.
