Should I rent a car in Nashville?
I’ll be visiting Nashville soon and I’m not sure how I’ll get around. I’m a big music fan, country and otherwise, so I’ll be checking out all the music-related sights. Would you recommend renting a car in Nashville?

Renting a car in
Nashville
is a great idea! The driving is not much different than any other big city, and you’ll have the freedom to come and go as you please.You’ll be able to see all the attractions in the city, and you can even take a day trip to see some of the many attractions that lie just outside Nashville, such as:
- Civil War History Tour: Nearby Franklin, TN was one of the most storied theatres in the American Civil War.
- Historic Cannonsburgh Village: Murfreesboro plays host to this historically accurate recreation of the town’s 19th-century downtown area.
- Dunbar Cave State Park: You can explore the Dunbar cave complex in Clarksville, TN via a guided tour between May and August.
If you’re a big music fan, you might also want to take a day trip to Memphis—the birthplace of rock—and Graceland, where you can visit the grave of Elvis.
If don’t want to deal with all the traffic and parking headaches, and you don’t plan on leaving the city, you can get away with not renting a car in Nashville. Just use one of the many other affordable transportation options available, including:

- Bicycle rentals
- Taxi
- Rideshare
