“The answer to this question depends in part on how your

policy is written. If your policy covers permissive users and permissive drivers, then you can probably make a claim.

But you should be aware that filing a claim will raise your rates. This is why you should consider getting an estimate for the repairs before you file a claim. If the value of the damage is on the low end, it may make more sense for you to pay out of pocket to avoid a rate hike. “
