Is Wyoming a no-fault state?

I currently live in Minnesota, and it’s taken me forever to understand this whole “no-fault” thing. Thankfully, I’m moving to Wyoming in a few weeks—am I right, that it’s not a no-fault state?

That’s right, Wyoming is not a no-fault state. It follows a partial/modified comparative negligence law, which allows you to collect damages according to your percentage of fault, as long as your percentage of fault is 50% or less.
So, let’s see this in action: let’s say you’re in an accident, and you’re found to be 57% at fault. This means you’ll only be responsible for paying 57% of the other driver’s damages—but it also means you can’t collect any damages yourself.
Obviously, you can collect more as your level of fault decreases, but there’s a good chance you’ll be found at least a little bit at fault in just about any accident. That’s why it’s so important to make sure you’ve got a solid

policy ready to pick up the slack for your damages.
