Is there a reason the car dealership ran my credit six times?

Why did the dealership run my credit six times? I just signed up for dealer financing through one of their partners. However, I looked at my credit report and noticed six separate hard inquiries.

“If the
dealership
doesn’t offer in-house financing, that means they’re working with several lenders.
Each of these lenders will pull your credit report to seek approval of your potential car loan.
The good news is that multiple hard inquiries in a 14-day period will only count as one hard inquiry. While a hard credit pull will affect your credit some, multiple pulls in a two-week span won’t have a major effect on your
credit score
.
Don’t sweat it!”
