How can I check the remaining balance on my car loan?
I’ve been paying my car loan for a while now and I’m not sure, but I think I’m coming up on the last few months. How can I check the balance on my loan?

Congratulations on being almost done with your loan; that’s a huge deal! To check the remaining balance on your car loan, you can use one of two methods:
- Through your lender. If you remember the name of your lender, you can contact them directly and speak to a representative regarding your loan’s details. They will be able to tell you how much you’ve paid, how much you have to pay, and how long it will take.
- Through a loan balance calculator. Generally each of these sites will ask you for your overall loan amount, yourinterest rate, and your loan period.
From here you can do some simple math to count back to when you started your loan. This will tell you how much longer you have to go.
