Is there a brake system problem with Hondas?
My Honda CR-V did this weird thing recently where it randomly braked on me out of nowhere. Luckily, I was going at a pretty slow speed, but it still surprised me. Is there a brake system problem with Hondas?

The National Traffic and Highway Safety Administration (NHTSA) has been in the process of investigating what sounds similar to the problem you’re describing: the automatic emergency braking (AEB) system activating unexpectedly while driving.
2017-2019
Honda CR-Vs
and 2018-2019 Honda Accords
are involved in the investigation. Since you’ve experienced this problem yourself, it would probably be helpful if you submitted a complaint of your own, which you can easily do through the NHTSA website: NHTSA.gov.It sounds like it may be worth having a certified mechanic inspect your braking system to search for any issues to reduce the odds of this happening to you again.
As the investigation remains open, it’s a good idea to periodically check back to the NHTSA website for any additional updates or manufacturer communications.
