Is the Tesla Model S the safest car?
I’m pretty skeptical of Tesla’s autonomous driving modes. That said, I’ve been researching options for a new car, and I just found out that the Model S received near-perfect safety scores. Is the Tesla Model S really one of the safest cars on the market?

Tesla’s automated driving technology may be scary for some, but most of their vehicles have scored exceptionally well in crash test ratings. Huffington Post lauds The Tesla Model S as one of the safest cars ever made, due to its perfect safety ratings in the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)’s crash tests.
In addition to perfect safety ratings—which top out at five stars—the Tesla Model S earned a combined 5.4-star rating on the overall vehicle safety score. It’s basically that kid in high school who somehow got a 4.5 GPA when you thought 4.0 was the cap, so yeah… the Tesla Model S is a really safe car.
