All-wheel drive comes standard on all six trims. The Mazda i-ACTIV AWD system is highly praised by critics and drivers alike, offering on-demand handling, off-road traction assist, torque control, and front-wheel slip detection to provide top-notch performance at every turn.
The CX-9 also features a 227-horsepower, 2.0-liter, turbo-four engine and a six-speed automatic transmission with manual shift mode. This provides an excellent mix of handling and speed, as well as an above-average fuel economy of 26 mpg on the highway and 20 mpg in the city.
