Is the Honda Civic hybrid an electric car?

My mom used to drive a Honda Civic when I was a kid, and I actually learned to drive on it. Now that I’m able to buy my own car I was hoping to get the same kind of vehicle, in an EV. Is the Honda Civic hybrid an electric car?

Aww, that’s so sweet—we love stories like that! Yes, the Honda Civic hybrid is an electric car. Though, it should be noted an all-electric version of the Civic does not exist.
Like all hybrids, the car runs on both gasoline and electricity. The 2023 model has a pairing of two motors in addition to a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle engine. The majority of its torque and 181 horsepower are from the electric motor system.
The vehicle is designed to make its instant torque and quick acceleration energy efficient. A neat feature in this vehicle is that the car will assess the driving situation and automatically switch from full EV, hybrid, or engine power without the driver needing to do that themselves.
If you’re buying a new car, buying
car insurance
is essential.
