First off, we here at Jerry offer our heartiest congratulations on your move to the land of hockey, poutine, and very cold weather! Second, to answer your question in a nutshell—no, the Acura ILX
is not good in the snow. While overall the ILX is a handsome, sporty sedan that is a slick drive in warm weather, it doesn’t fare well in the white stuff. Even with snow tires, the front-wheel-drive ILX performs poorly in the snow—it tends to float and slide along covered surfaces, even with snow tires, which is not the kind of temperament you want when driving in winter weather.
Even if you wanted to, you couldn’t go back in time and get an all-wheel-drive ILX because Acura only offers it with front-wheel drive.
Also, Montreal gets a lot of snow, so either consider storing your ILX for the long Canadian winter or get yourself a new, more winter-friendly drive.
Oh, and you know they speak French in Montreal, right?
Whether you keep driving your ILX in the Canadian winter (we don’t suggest it) or get yourself a winter-fortified ride, be sure to protect your vehicle with a robust car insurance
