Is lane splitting legal in West Virginia?

I just moved to West Virginia and prefer to drive my motorcycle as much as I can. I don’t want to rack up tickets, so I want to make sure I understand the laws in my new state. Is lane splitting legal in West Virginia?

Driving between two lanes of traffic on a motorcycle, or lane splitting, is illegal in West Virginia. Doing so could result in a traffic ticket and a fine of up to $100.
Getting pulled over for lane splitting a second time could lead to a $200 fine, and repeat offenders face a maximum fine of $500.
Keep in mind that West Virginia also requires all motorcyclists to carry
motorcycle insurance
. Luckily, this type of insurance is usually
cheaper than car insurance
