There’s no way of telling if a 10-year-old car is too old to purchase because it’s dependent on the basic maintenance done by the original owner, the make and model of the car, and the mileage.
Generally speaking, a 10-year-old car is a gamble, as the average lifespan of a car in the U.S. is about 12 years or 200,000 miles. However, meticulously maintained cars have been known to last even longer.
