I’m looking at a used Hyundai for sale online, and it says it comes with a 100,000-mile warranty. I didn’t think that warranty was transferable, though—is this right?
10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, then you’re right, it’s non-transferrable. However, if the ad is referring to the 10-year/100,000-mile hybrid/electric battery & hybrid system components warranty, then it is transferable.
When you buy a used Hyundai from an independent seller, the only warranty that doesn’t transfer is the 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain limited warranty, but if you buy a Hyundai Certified Used Vehicle you’ll get a manufacturer warranty that includes:
5-year/60,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty
10-year/100,000-mile certified used vehicles powertrain limited warranty
