Is driving without a license a violation of probation?

I got a DUI last year, and I’m still on probation. It’s hard for me to make it to my job on time without driving myself there, but I definitely don’t want to get in even more trouble. Does driving without a license violate my probation terms?

That’s a tough situation to be in, especially since arriving late at work can cause a whole bunch of other problems. But your probation requires you to follow all laws, so driving without a license is a violation of probation.
Every state requires you to present a valid driver’s license when you get pulled over, and not being able to do so would cause more problems for you. Each situation depends on the circumstances, but you could expect
penalties
like:
  • An extended license suspension
  • Fines
  • Community service
  • Jail time
To avoid violating your probation, don’t drive until your license is reinstated. When it is, you may find your car insurance rates have gone up significantly. This is because insurers consider you a high-risk driver. But the
