I've read that all-wheel drive (AWD) can add quite a bit to the final price of a car. Is it worth the added expense?

“All-wheel drive can range from about $1,500 on Hondas and Toyotas up to $5,000 on luxury cars.
So is it worth the expense? Yes and no.
If you’re using your car to get around, drive defensively, and rarely go above the speed limit, you probably don’t need to shell out the extra money.
But if you’re a bit more of an aggressive driver, you live in a snowy or wet climate, or you feel more comfortable with added stability and traction, it might be worth the extra cash.
