Sorry to hear about your AC issue! Fortunately, every new Subaru comes with a three-year/36,000-mile new vehicle limited warranty to guarantee the car is free from defects. In other words, the AC should be covered under the Subaru warranty since you’ve only had your car for a short time.
Here’s how the Subaru warranty breaks down:
- Powertrain limited warranty, 5 years/60,000 miles: Covers major powertrain systems including the engine
- Seat belt lifetime limited warranty, lifetime: Covers seat belt components
- Rust perforation limited warranty, 5 years/unlimited miles: Covers body panels if rusted but doesn’t cover cosmetic damage
- Hybrid system limited warranty, 8 years/100,000 miles: Covers repairs for plug-in hybrid vehicle components and battery packs
- New vehicle limited warranty, 3 years/36,000 miles: Bumper-to-bumper warranty with some exceptions
- Wear item limited warranty, 3 years/36,000 miles: Replacement of brake pads/shoe linings, clutch linings, and wiper blades
