Is a purge valve covered under a Ford warranty?
My partner and I got a Ford Focus two years ago and it recently began having issues starting. Yesterday the check engine light came on so we took it in for service. Our mechanic told us it’s an issue with the purge valve. Is a purge valve covered under the Ford warranty?

Sorry to hear that your Ford Focus is having issues! Unfortunately, the purge valve is not usually covered under Ford warranty.
In fact, Ford’s emissions warranty doesn’t cover the EVAP system at all. If you want to know for certain, however, you can do so by
checking your Ford VIN
and your odometer
mileage, then calling the dealer to see what’s covered in your specific warranty. It’s actually not recommended that you rely solely on information from your owner’s manual, as these are dated to your vehicle’s manufacturing date rather than the purchase date—which is when your warranty becomes active.
