I’m not sure if it’s just a local vernacular or slang, but my cousin has always calls his new Ford Bronco his truck. It’s actually making me wonder whether it’s a truck or an SUV. Which is it?

In some parts of the country, people may call SUVs trucks, although no one’s quite sure why. In the case of your cousin’s ride, a Ford Bronco is an SUV and not a truck—regardless of whether he has a new one or a vintage one.
However, the Ford Bronco is built with a body-on-frame platform—the same that trucks use. This still doesn’t qualify it as a truck, but it does provide better towing capacity and off-road handling than a unibody crossover/crossover SUV would.
If you want to get on your cousin’s good side, you may not want to correct him about the truck vs. SUV debate, but you can always suggest that he saves money on his
