certificate of title
if you change your name, buy a car, or sell a car.However, you should alert your car insurance company and the DMV of the color change. Believe it or not, your car insurance rates can change based on the color of your vehicle. The DMV only needs the information to update your registration, which will update the color in the system if you’re pulled over by law enforcement.
