How will my car insurance be impacted if I move every six months?
I'm taking a new job that will require me to move to new states every six months for two years. My current insurance company only operates in Oklahoma, so I need to find a new carrier once I move. My agent told me it'll be expensive to do this with my car and I'm wondering if that's true.

, meaning you may need to change your coverage with every move if you only maintain liability insurance
. Another cost to consider is that your car will need to be registered in the state that you move to and are seeking insurance in.
Any time you change your address or garaging information on your policy, your rate can change. Address is one of the factors that carriers look at when determining a rate.
As your current carrier does not operate in other states, you should start comparison shopping with larger carriers like
Liberty Mutual
and AAA
. They will be better than smaller carriers since you will be moving frequently. Most large carriers operate throughout the continental US and will be able to rewrite your policy every move.
