How to open a Ford F150 key fob
I’ve been trying for a while to get into the key fob for my Ford F150. I know it’s possible because there’s a battery in there that needs to be replaced. But I have no idea how to open the thing. How can I do that?

Key fobs can be tricky to open—each one nowadays seems to have its own counterintuitive and hidden methods for opening them up. Once you know what to do, however, it’s usually fairly easy. Here’s what you’ll need to do in order to open a Ford F150 key fob:
- Press the small round release button to flip the key blade out.
- Using a flat blade screwdriver (or something similar) pry the remaining halves away
- This should account for the entire outer cover. Once it’s gone, you’ll have a clear shot at the battery
