How reliable is a Jetta?
My uncle offered to sell me his old Volkswagen Jetta. This sounds really nice of him, but I always hear him complaining about it! Is the Jetta reliable, or should I turn down his offer?

That is a kind offer! The
Volkswagen Jetta
has mediocre reliability ratings. While the car isn’t rated terribly, it’s not the most reliable vehicle in its class.As for the offer from your uncle, we would recommend accepting it provided that a few things are true:
- Your uncle is giving you a good deal.
- There aren’t any major issues with the vehicle.
- The vehicle doesn’t have a lot of miles on it.
The Jetta has a projected lifespan of 100,000 to 200,000 miles with proper care, so a Jetta with 150,000 miles won’t be a great investment.
