I’m going to buy a new Ford vehicle, but generally speaking, I own cars until they absolutely fall apart. As such, I want to buy a Ford Protect extended warranty to keep my car running smoothly without any out-of-pocket expenses. I just want to make sure it won’t break the bank. How much do Ford Protect plans cost?

While the cost of one of these plans varies by model, model year, coverage level, and time frame, you can generally expect to pay between $1,500 and $4,500 for a Ford Protect extended warranty.
Ford Protect extended warranties come with varying terms, but you can extend it for up to 10 years or 175,000 miles. Plus, you can choose the level of coverage you want. Ford offers four extended warranties to suit your needs and budget:
- PremiumCARE: Covers 1,000 different components, essentially functioning as a bumper-to-bumper warranty.
- ExtraCARE: Covers 113 components related to the drivability of your vehicle
- BasicCARE: Covers 84 components related to the overall drivability of your Ford
- PowertrainCARE: Covers 29 components related to the powertrain, including the engine, transmission, and drivetrain
