How much is it to replace the car keys for a Honda?

I just got back from vacation and can’t find the keys to my Honda Civic anywhere. I called the hotel, but they haven’t found any keys, so I need to purchase a replacement. How much does it typically cost to replace Honda keys?

Oh, no—losing a set of car keys is never fun. It will cost around $90 to $140 to replace the car keys for a
Honda
.
Keep in mind that the price may vary depending on:
  • What year your car was manufactured
  • Whether or not the replacement key is made by Honda or a third party
  • If you get the key programmed at a Honda dealership, by a locksmith, or do it yourself
In general, it is best to visit a dealership and let them order the correct key and program it for you. Ordering the key on your own or using a third party could be cheaper, but you run the risk of getting an incompatible key or having it programmed incorrectly.
