How much is a ticket for driving without a seatbelt?
I feel really restricted by my seat belt and it tends to rub this area on my shoulder that makes it uncomfortable to wear. I’m getting ready to take a road trip and I don’t want to have to deal with that the whole time. What would happen if I was caught driving without my seatbelt on?

The answer to this question depends on which state you’re driving in at the time. In most states, a ticket for driving without a seatbelt will only cost you *between $10 and $60**.
Some states have stricter laws than others, however. In
Texas
, for example, you’ll get a ticket for $200 for driving without a seatbelt, while New Hampshire has no laws regarding seatbelts at all.It’s also worth mentioning that in some states, wearing a seatbelt is a secondary law. This means that you can’t get pulled over just because you’re not wearing your seatbelt, but an officer can still give you a ticket if they pull you over for something else and notice that you don’t have your seatbelt on.
To avoid an unwanted ticket, it’s best to just keep your seatbelt on while you’re in the car. It keeps you safe from injury in the event of an accident, but it also keeps you safe from tickets and fines. If the seat belt is irritating your shoulder, try to choose clothing that covers the area to avoid further irritation to your skin.
