How much does it cost to replace a car door?

I was in an accident recently where I was at fault and the other car struck my passenger side door as I was driving through an intersection—my insurance obviously won’t cover it so I’m paying repairs out of pocket. How much does it cost to replace a car door?

Sorry to hear about your accident! On average, expect the cost of replacing your car door to fall anywhere between $500 and $2500, depending on several factors: make and model, cost of labor, extent of the damage, level of insurance coverage, and your car insurance deductible.
A new car door shell alone can range from $250 to $1500, depending on the make and model of your vehicle and whether or not a used door can be found and installed rather than a brand new one.
Labor costs bring the price up even further, adding on at least another $200 to the total cost of repairs—this is also where the extent of damage comes into play because labor costs will increase if any connecting door parts or electrical components were damaged in the accident and require subsequent repairs.
