How much does it cost to replace a car axle?
How much will it cost me to replace my car axle rod? I noticed that one of my tires looks a little wonky and I’m worried that I’ll need to replace the axle.

On average, you can expect it to cost between $880 and $959 to replace your car axle shaft, depending on the type of car you drive and which axle is broken. However, it’s possible that you’ll just need to repair your axle rather than replace it. This has a smaller price tag; repairing your front axle could cost between $550 and $740, and repairing your rear axle could cost between $480 and $550.
If your axle is the problem, you may notice warning signs such as:
- Your car strains to move.
- You notice a shaking or rumbling coming from one wheel, particularly when turning or accelerating.
Regardless, you should talk to your mechanic right away to get the problem fixed, as problems with
your tire
