We’re so sorry to hear about the damage! DIY dent repair kits cost as little as $15, but more severe damage can cost upwards of $1,000 to be fixed at a repair shop.
Your repair cost will depend on how serious the damage is. Dime-sized hail for one minute and baseball-sized hail for 10 minutes will result in very different damage.
A few shallow dents can usually be fixed with a DIY solution costing less than $20. Try applying extreme heat (hairdryer) or cold (dry ice) to the dented areas. After several minutes, you may be able to pop the dent back. You can also try a dent repair kit, which includes a lifter or puller.
Dents that exceed ½ an inch in depth should be treated by a professional, which may cost between $100 and $2,000. Holes and major scrapes from hail cannot always be fixed with paint and body filler. Sometimes, the entire panel needs to be replaced—or the vehicle sanded and repainted.
Note that your windshield probably sustained some damage from the hail. To be safe, we recommend examining it carefully or taking it to a glass repair shop. Even a tiny crack is a serious safety concern.
