depends on where you’re charging your car and the type of charging station
you use. Here’s what we know about how much it costs to charge an electric car in BC:
- If you charge your car at home (as most people do) it costs between $2-4 per 100km you drive. That’s much less than a tank of gas!
- For 25 kW charging, it costs **12.07 cents per minute **at a BC Hydro EV station.
- For 50 kW charging, it costs 21.13 cents per minute at a BC Hydro EV station.
- For 100 kW charging, it costs 27.17 cents per minute at a BC Hydro EV station.
It’s also important to remember that these rates don’t include any mandatory parking fees that may be associated with using the station.
