The ElectraMeccanica Solo EV was first launched in 2020 as an alternative to cars for cheap, efficient city transportation. The bizarre-looking EV is somewhat of a cross between a car and a scooter and is technically classified as an
electric autocycle
. It sports only three wheels and a single seat, but still offers all the enclosure of a car.
The Solo EV is priced at $18,500 before destination.
In spite of its small size and somewhat limited applications, the Solo also boasts pretty good specs for an EV of its size. It has a reported 100-mile range, 80 mph top speed, and takes 2.5 hours to charge to 85%.
