How many pound-feet of torque do I need for spark plugs?
I’m doing a full tuneup on my car, but I’m not exactly sure about the spark plugs. I purchased a set of them, but when installing, I don’t want to have them too loose or too tight. How much torque do I need to apply when installing spark plugs?

The amount of torque needed for spark plugs depends on the size of the spark plug thread and the type of spark plug you’re using. For gasket-type spark plugs, you need to apply between 8 pound-feet of torque for a 10 mm spark plug up to 55 pound-feet of torque for a ⅞-inch spark plug.
Tapered seat-style spark plugs require a bit less torque, typically between 7 and 20 pound-feet.
