I’m confident in my ability to drive, but I’m terrible at taking written tests. How many mistakes am I allowed to make in Florida?

Test-taking is a skill in and of itself, and not everyone is great at taking tests. We feel you! Each state’s passing threshold varies, and
Florida
is no exception. Up to 10 mistakes are allowed on the driving test in Florida.
You’ll need a passing score of 80% to move on from your written exam. If you fail, you must wait one day and then sign up for another test. You’ll need to answer 40 of the 50 questions correctly to pass the written test.
Study extra hard on these topics to be sure to pass your written test:
  • Hand signals
  • Railroad crossing safety
  • What to do about driving if you’ve had alcohol
  • Following distance
  • Accident protocol
Make sure you use your
Official Florida Driver Handbook
to study and you’ll be good to go. Once you’ve passed the written test, it’s on to the road test where you’ll have to provide your own vehicle. Did you know the provided vehicle needs to meet insurance requirements, even though you’re not licensed to drive it yet?
If you need help getting insurance for your test vehicle, download the
Jerry
app. Jerry is a

super app
that can walk you through the entire insurance-buying process. You’ll never have to talk on the phone to an agent (unless you want to) or go anywhere in person. It all takes place within the app.
Once your policy is up for renewal, Jerry automatically shops for a new policy to find the best price for you. That’s just one way for Jerry to save you an average of $800 or more per year on car insurance.
