How many mistakes are allowed on a driving test in Ohio?

I live in Ohio, and I’m getting ready to take my driving test to get my permit. Do I have to get a perfect score, or I can make a few mistakes and still pass?

As a new driver, you’re not alone in your concern over how many mistakes are allowed on a driving test in
Ohio
. You must keep at least 75 of your original 100 points to pass your Ohio driving test.
Ohio’s driving test is broken into two sections: driving skills and maneuverability (parallel parking). Drivers must pass both sections to pass the test as a whole.
Drivers begin their test with 100 points and lose points as the examiner witnesses them making mistakes. If your mistakes cost you more than 25 points, overall, you will fail your driving test.
Like most states, Ohio also includes a number of actions that will result in an automatic test failure. Some actions that will cause you automatically to fail your Ohio driving test include:
  • Disobeying street signs or traffic signals
  • Speeding
  • Failure to wear a seat belt
  • Causing a traffic accident
Ohio also requires new drivers to obtain at least minimum
liability coverage
to complete their driving test. Since you’ll be busy studying for your driving and written tests, why not let the experts at
