How many Ford GTs were made in 2018?

I’ve recently become super intrigued by the Ford GT after hearing about how much they’ve been selling for at auctions. I think I saw that a 2018 model sold for almost a million. How many Ford GTs were made in 2018?

It is completely plausible that a used Ford GT could sell for as much as a million dollars—and rarity is a huge factor in that. In 2018, there were only 250 Ford GT models made. Each one was built specifically for a selected buyer from a pool of hopeful applicants.
The 2018 Ford GT production is part of a six-year timeline to produce 1,350 second-generation GT models, with the final production year ending in 2022. If an applicant for this $479,000 vehicle was chosen as a buyer, they were held to a two-year “no sale” contract, as well. Buyers who did try to auction before two years were up were promptly sued by Ford.
What’s so impressive about the Ford GT anyway? Here are a few stand-out features:
  • 216 mph top speed
  • The 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gets 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque
  • It hits 0 to 60 mph in a stomach-turning 2.9 seconds
  • Upswinging doors, an aggressively aerodynamic silhouette, and a carbon fiber body—seriously, have you seen this thing?
Realistically, most of us will never get behind the wheel of one of these supercars. But while we can only imagine the GT’s race track thrill and gossip over its auction drama, the much more affordable [Ford Mustang GT](Ford Mustang GT](
