How many estimates should I get after a car accident?

Yesterday, I was in a car accident that did some pretty serious damage to the front of my car. Thankfully, nobody was hurt, but I’m worried about the repair cost. How many estimates should I get from repair shops?

We’re sorry to hear that you got into an accident, but we’re glad everybody’s safe! If you want to guarantee the best quality and price on your repairs, you should get at least three estimates for the repair work.
We’ll walk you through the three steps you need to take to get back on the road.
First, get estimates from at least three repair shops. The first should be a quality shop with a stellar record—they’ll serve as a benchmark for other repair companies. If possible, you should get written estimates that include both labor prices and repair parts.
Second, compare the rates and services from each shop. You can run through each estimate line-by-line to ensure that the repairs are up to snuff.
Third, choose your repair shop. Remember, cheaper isn’t always better! You want to make sure that your repairs are quality so that you can confidently hum along the freeway once you get your car back.
Unfortunately, an accident can cause your car insurance rate to spike. If you want to keep your premiums low,
