In 2012,
Dodge
re-released the rare 1969 Challenger Yellow Jacket, nearly 43 years after its introduction. These bright yellow-and-black Challengers were (and remain) hard to come by—and for a good reason.
Just 1,300 models were made. Of that number, only about half of the models featured a six-speed manual transmission. The original Challenger Yellow Jacket was more than just a show car—it was the first Hemi E-Body ever built. Sporting a 6.4-liter V8 HEMI engine, the Challenger Yellow Jacket was packed with power—a feature that was only expanded upon during its one-year re-release in 2012, which introduced a special trim package.
Today, the Challenger Yellow Jacket remains a well-sought-after classic car, thanks partly to its sheer rarity. At an auction, the average Yellow Jacket may have as many as 60,000 or 70,000 miles on its odometer, and a price tag between $22,700 to $30,500. For models with less mileage or in pristine conditions, you can expect the price to be even higher.
