rolled off the factory lines in 2011, to the great disappointment of many truck enthusiasts. With a mighty V6 engine under its hood, the 2011 Ford Ranger was capable of producing 207-hp @ 5250 rpm and 238 lb-ft of torque @ 3000 rpm.
That doesn’t mean that the current lineup of Rangers are tame, by any means. Take the 2022 model, for instance. Under the hood of each
of the Ranger, you’ll find a 2.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine that generates a whopping 270 horsepower.
But, if the rumors are to be believed, word on the street is that Ford is working on reviving the Ranger V6. More precisely, some speculate that the American automaker is working on a Ranger with a 2.7-liter V6 330-hp engine isn’t very far off. So, if you love the Ranger but want a beefier engine, just have to wait and see.
